Middle school is an opportunity to recognize andreinforce what parents and teachers already know: you are wonderful, fabulous, intelligent, talented, and valuable. You are meant to shine. How different would your middle school experience be if you fully realized this? The more you investigate God's will for your life this year, the more you will believe and embrace these words...the truth of what you can be and what you can achieve by just being who you were created to be.
Dear Family,This September 2024 begins a brand new school year for all of us! I would like to welcome back our students from last year, and I’d also like to extend a warm welcome to any new students. As always, the start of a school year holds the promise of new discovery and learning, as well as the prospect of personal growth in all areas.
Since fifth grade is a transition year before middle school, our students will be working on improving their organization, time management, and social skills. Our students will work on improving their critical thinking and applying mathematical reasoning on a daily basis here at HFS. We will work daily on improving writing, reading, and study skills throughout our curriculum.
One of the most important goals as teachers is to provide your child with a classroom that is not only consistent and structured, but also full of warmth and security so that we can share the Lord’s truth and vision together. When children feel secure, their motivation to learn will be enhanced.
Throughout the course of the year, feel free to check in with me whenever necessary, either via phone call, email, or a letter sent in with your child. If any questions or concerns are not responded to within two days, please follow up to make sure they were not lost in the shuffle. The beginning of the year brings many forms to complete and return (emergency numbers, technology contracts, and email addresses). Be sure all email addreses are on Option C. Being timely will help us record important information. Please take time to complete and return asap.
Homework assignments, projects and upcoming events will be posted on our individual websites. Please check websites and assignment book often as they are a valuable tool to find out what is going on in our school community. Grades will be posted to www.OptionC.com on a continuous basis, so be sure to check that website and also the school site to stay current with the latest informati on at HFS.
I will be teaching 5th grade religion, ELA and science.
I will also be teaching 6th grade religion.
