Odyssey of the Mind is an international educational program that provides creative problem-solving opportunities for students from kindergarten through college. Team members apply their creativity (NOT THEIR PARENTS OR ANY OUTSIDE ASSISTANCE) to solve problems that range from building mechanical devices to presenting their own interpretation of literary classics. They then bring their solutions to competition on the local, state, and World level. Thousands of teams from throughout the U.S. and from about 25 other countries participate in the program. REMINDER: 2 more days until our BoxTop classroom competition is over! Bring in your BoxTops before Thursday 10/28! The classroom with the most BoxTops will receive a special treat! The top three leaders are: Mrs. Berk – 986, Mrs. Louden-421, and Mrs. Rhoads –220. Remember to check expiration dates and cut out along the dotted lines. Thank you so much! Every BoxTop counts!!!

Holy Family School will be hosting High School Night, this Wednesday, October 21st, 6:30PM to 8PM in Griffin Hall. Area parochial and private high schools will be showcasing their school and answering your questions. If you have a child in 6th, 7th or 8th grade this is a perfect place to start your research.

The November Lunch Menu is now available. Please return the menu and payment (one check per family) to HFS Office no later than Wednesday, October 21st. Don't forget to make sure you fill in your student's name and room number at the top of the form! There is a new menu option each day for a cold sandwich (i.e. Ham, Tuna, etc). The issue we were having last month when using Google Chrome has been corrected. If you have any questions please contact: dnemceff@myholyfamilyschool.org

Did you know that we raised over $700 last year for our school by collecting BoxTops! Last year Mrs. Dougherty’s third grade class collected over 727 BoxTops in one month! Let’s try and beat that number! For the month of October, the classroom that collects the most BoxTops will win a special treat. So make sure to ask your friends and family to start clipping!
