Just a few important notes:
Arrival Procedure:
Car riders: Drop- off in the morning is on Third Street (right in front of the school). Your child will exit the car and be escorted into the school by a teacher, and greeted at the doors by another teacher. For the first several days, I wil be stationed in our classroom doorway to wave the children into the classroom.
Bus riders: The students will exit the bus, and will be escorted to the doors of the primary hallway. Again, a teacher will be stationed at those doors, and I will be visible to the children for the first days.
Morning Cares: The students will be escorted from the cafeteria to our classroom by Mrs. Nemceff or teacher aide.
Dismissal Procedure:
Car riders: Students will be dismissed from primary hallway doors and escorted by the teacher on duty to the small parking lot adjacent to the school, where you will be waiting. The crossing guard will then cross you to the big parking lot across the street.
Bus riders: A teacher will escort your child to the appropriate bus. Please meet your child at the bus stop.
Afternoon Cares: Your child will be picked up from the
classroom by Mrs. Nemceff or will be escorted by a teacher
to the cafeteria.
SNACKS: It is a long day for these guys, and a snack and short socialization break is very conducive to learning. Please send in two snacks for your child each day! If a snack will be provided by the school for free, as it was last year, I will let you know!
Dress Code:
Please follow the dress code as outlined in the HFS handbook. However, the boys do not have to wear belts...they can be really tricky when the need to use the restroom is urgent!
Homework:
The minimal homework that will be given will be published under the "Homework" tab on my teacher page daily. The children are also always informed of their homework.
Star Student:
Each week, a new star student will be picked! We will explore this student's special interests and talents, and the student will enjoy many coveted jobs and privileges. On Friday, the student will bring home a special booklet created by his/her classmates, celebrating his/her "star quality"! A letter will be placed in your child's homework folder, the Friday prior to his/her special week, detailing directions and requests.
Thank you!
